Delta Air Lines, Inc. DFP Manufacturing Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia

This is a position for employment at a Delta Air Lines wholly-owned subsidiary, Delta Flight Products; not Delta Air Lines.

Maintains a 24/7/365 central point of contact with the Base and Line Maintenance departments, in executing the development, design and production of repair, modification, process and inspection documentation in support of Delta's worldwide maintenance activities.

Evaluates and interprets AD, FAR and Delta policy requirements to ensure compliance in all engineering documentation.

Works closely with the managers, foremen, technicians and fellow engineers.

Provides quality, safe and timely technical documentation to correct a myriad of problems affecting aircraft structure.

Technical documents include detailed instructions for accomplishment, detailed engineering drawings and detailed analysis. In addition, documentation will include the appropriate FAA coordination and approval. Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Must be willing to participate in work that requires on-call travel to remote locations for support of emergency aircraft repairs and other maintenance activities. Must also be willing to extend shifts, regularly, to support emergency return to service of active in-service aircraft.

Four year accredited undergraduate engineering degree (Aeronautical/Aerospace, Mechanical) required.

Requires working various shifts, rotating days off and non-standard work weeks, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred to possess familiarity with FARs and DOT regulations governing transport aircraft certification and operation.

Preferred to have knowledge and experience with major airline operations.

Should have the ability to communicate to a diverse audience in various formal and informal environments.

Should have the ability to analyze incomplete information and implement timely decision-making while mitigating risk factors.

Must possess clear written and oral technical communication skills.

Must be a strong supporter of Six Sigma and continuous improvement efforts.

Working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Access) and AutoCAD (or similar CAD software).
