Job Description

WSP USA has an immediate opening in our Atlanta, GA office for a Sr. Supervising Water Resources Engineer to support our water practice. The candidate will be responsible help grow the firm’s water and wastewater practice in the Atlanta, Georgia area, including project management, business development, staff development, and managing and completing projects involving water distribution systems, sanitary sewer conveyance systems, and wastewater pump stations, as well as providing utility coordination on water, sewer, drainage, and transportation projects.

Position Description

  • Project management, business development, staff development for water/wastewater practice.

  • Capable of leading project teams to plan and design municipal water and wastewater infrastructure facilities including pump stations, storage tanks, and treatment plants is highly desirable.

  • Supervise coordination with utility companies on a variety of water, wastewater, drainage, and transportation projects, including the design of utility relocation plans and preparation of associated permits.

  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for planning studies and design. Experience with Innovyze modeling software products is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated experience with leading sewer rehabilitation projects and currently hold NASSCO PACP and MACP certificates

  • Supervise the preparation of contract documents including reports, plans, specifications, details, and cost estimates.

Job Requirements

Education / Experience Required

  • 15+ or more years experience in technical calculations and project design

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in GA, or ability to obtain one within 6 months.

  • Project experience in the following areas:

  • Civil engineering principles and practices.

  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.

  • Design of potable water systems, wastewater collection/conveyance systems, and drainage systems.

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Microstation a plus

  • Affiliations with professional societies and active industry and community involvement are highly desirable

  • Authorization to immediately work in the United States

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
