Structural Engineering Lead Office Location: Kennesaw, Atlanta, GA Discipline: Structural Description ENERCON Services is an employee owned, premier Engineering and Environmental Services Company. We are currently looking for a Civil/Structural Engineering Work Group Lead within the Nuclear Power industry to join the ENERCON Team. In this role, your key responsibilities will be to lead a Structural Engineering sub-group (under the direction of a Supervisor) for the office in Kennesaw, GA. Responsibilities include: Leads and provides day to day direction for a team of engineers and technical staff to produce engineering design products for commercial nuclear power plants. The products include calculations, studies, and engineering change packages. Under the direction a Discipline Supervisor, leads a discipline-specific Engineering Unit sub-group comprised of Engineers and engineering staff. Identify and promote opportunities for site work. Identify and promote training opportunities (ex: owner's groups, manufacturer, professional society). Utilize the review/approval process of deliverables as technical training opportunity for staff. Provide timely and appropriate performance feedback and coaching. Manages their own applied time and the applied time for their staff to meet applied time goals. Provides supervision and technical guidance and mentorship to Civil/Structural Engineering staff. Responsible for approval of employee timesheets and expense reports. Coordinate task assignments to maximize staff utilization. Ensures the discipline staff is planning and executing work effectively. Ensures that the staff maintain schedules, budgets and quality of deliverables. Supports ENERCON marketing via proposal development, cost estimates, and developing relationships with client counterparts. Site travel to support client meetings, field walkdowns, and client relationship building. As a qualified candidate, you will have the above experience and meet the below requirements: Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites. Experience working in a nuclear power plant environment and familiarity with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) governing codes. Required to travel up to 20% of the time to client sites (expected to travel at least one time per month) for project and/or marketing meetings. Activities at client sites may require pre-job briefs and walkdowns at the site, including occasional climbing. Strong coordination and team building skills; demonstrated ability to work across disciplines, divisions, and teams. Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings; ENERCON and client specific background checks; and an annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies. B.S. in Civil/ Structural Engineering from an accredited university. PE License or able to obtain PE. Minimum 5 years engineering experience required (4 years with a PE License). Nuclear power industry experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of industry codes and standards, with heavy focus on steel and/or concrete design.
