Kapsch TrafficCom is seeking a Linux Operations Engineer for our office in Duluth, GA.The Linux Operations Engineer works to configure, deploy and support the Linux servers and software required to run the Kapsch US traffic management products.

To achieve this goal you will work closely with our Test, Engineering, Development, and Database teams through the various stages of each project from development to deployment.

The prerequisites for the Operations Engineer position are:

  • 2+ years supporting and deploying Linux systems in a live production environments

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • Demonstrable experience scripting with common scripting languages such as bash, Python, Perl, etc.

  • Experience working in or administrating virtual environments. We use VMware, but equivalent experience is acceptable if virtualizations concepts can be articulated

  • Experience using or scripting configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Salt, or Chef

  • Understanding of basic network services and configuration requirements to deploy a Linux server

  • Ability to create and document processes and best practices digestible by external teams

Preference will be given to candidates possessing one or more of the following:

  • Experience with DevOps culture and practices

  • Experience with version control software such as SVN or Git

  • Experience with Ansible for configuration management or software deployments

  • Experience working with HashiCorp’s Vagrant

  • Linux certifications such as but not limited to the RHCSA or RHCE

  • Experience working with multiple teams of various disciples to achieve successful deployments#D
