Job Summary: The Engineering Technician position assists the Engineering Department in developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. The Engineering Technician will support the engineering staff primarily in product development efforts through prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and validation. General responsibilities include the construction and validation of mechanical/electrical test board assemblies in a low volume production environment. The Engineering Technician will support small volume pilot builds of new designs and aid in the transfer of manufacturing processes to production staff. The Engineering Technician is responsible for building and coordinating sample builds for manufacturing and new product introductions. Duties and Requirements of the Job: �The Manufacturing Engineer Technician works closely with staff specialists/customers/suppliers to assist with the improvement of new and existing products, processes and equipment �Assist with assembly board and fixture design and building �Competent with standard machine shop, woodworking, and soldering equipment �Experience with multimeters and personal computers �Interface with Design Teams to drive changes for quality, manufacturability and testability improvements �Create operator assembly instructions and product audit procedures �Tracks, records/reports, identifies/investigates problems and continuous improvement related to new/existing products and processes �Perform duties in accordance with ISO/QS9000 and company quality standards �Other duties as assigned Global Team �Work effectively with other groups and locations to transfer ideas, designs, and technology to enhance Whitepath as a Global supplier Skills Required to Perform the Duties of the Job: �Proficient in the use of general powered (saws, drills, sanders, etc) and manual hand tools �Must be a self-directed professional able to work without direct supervision �Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines �Ability to manage multiple project events and changing priorities. �Strong ability to formulate, evaluate, and implement solutions to production and assembly problems �Must have strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills �Positive attitude, and an ability to adapt and learn quickly �Experienced in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel. Power Point, Publisher �Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, customer drawings and BOM�s �Experience with troubleshooting electrical problems to root cause �Ability to work within a team environment �Effective communication skills �Willing to travel to customers, suppliers and manufacturing locations if necessary Educational Requirements Needed to Perform the Duties of the Job: �Technical background with manufacturing and electrical knowledge or equivalent work-related experience �Post-secondary education in a technical program preferred Physical Requirements to Perform the Duties of the Job: �Able to travel if necessary Licensing or Other Special Certification Required: �Valid passport or ability to obtain one �Valid driver�s license
