Sr. Electrical Design Engineer Office Location: Field Assignment Discipline: Electrical Description ENERCON Services Inc., doing business for the Federal Government through our wholly owned subsidiary, ENERCON Federal Services (EFS), provides engineering and environmental services to many branches of the Federal Government. With extensive experience in engineering design, nuclear safety, decommissioning and environmental services, we are actively supporting large and small projects throughout the DOE complex. EFS also has current experience supporting operations and decommissioning efforts at US Army Corps of Engineers and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) facilities. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sr. Electrical Design Engineer to represent ENERCON at a customer site in Piketon, Ohio (Portsmouth) for a long-term contract opportunity. Active DOE Clearance Preferred. Position Overview: Under general supervision, performs engineering job functions as assigned by management. Typical job responsibilities assist and support management in engineering equipment design and development; system design; materials testing; review, checking and commenting 0n designs/drawings/data prepared by subordinate engineers and subcontractors; engineering studies and report preparation; and engineering computer programming as assigned. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following areas, in addition to other duties as assigned. Job Responsibilities: Provide expert analysis and assistance for electrical engineering matters ranging from three-phase medium voltage distribution system's (13.8 kV) to three-and single-phase application voltages (480/220/208/120 VAC). Prepares engineering forecasts, quality take-offs and change orders Prepares preliminary and final specifications and designs Preform inspections, assess hazards; develop recommendations on electrical issues Develop and assess electrical arc flash in accordance with NFPA 70E. SKM modeling capability desirable Evaluates operations and proposed modifications to determine compliance with engineering disciplines and standards, federal, state or local statutes, and environmental regulations Conducts feasibility studies and evaluates potential technologies Works with engineering team to provide technical guidance to field project personnel Assumes the lead role on engineering projects as assigned Maintains familiarity with current technical developments in pertinent scientific areas Takes responsibility for ensuring accuracy and completeness of all data and work produced Provides assigned technical or functional support to team members Job Requirements: BS degree in Electrical Engineering Minimum of 15 years of applicable experience is REQUIRED Typical experience ranges from 15-25 years Experience at and familiarity with PORTS site desirable Active DOE clearance desirable Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings; ENERCON and client specific background checks; and an annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies ENERCON Services, Inc.
