Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Engineer in Marietta, Georgia
The Skunk Works is looking for world class talent in Aeronautical Engineering to be a part of a team that will carry on our 75 year tradition making history in advanced aircraft development.
This exciting position is with the Skunk Works located in Marietta, Georgia. This position will support an ADP (Advanced Development Program) effort as an structural design engineer supporting design and analysis.
This position is for an Airframe Designer for the Advanced Mobility and Maritime Missions Improvements and Derivatives team. This position requires an Airframe Design Engineer to use their technical expertise to design aircraft structure and subsystems installations. The candidate will apply his or her understanding of the technical principles of structural design toward the solution of technical problems. The candidate will be responsible for layout and detail modeling of aircraft structure, structural assemblies, layouts and detail drawings using CATIA V5, participating in trade studies, creating and maintaining interface control drawings, and coordination with Integrated Product Teams. The candidate will work under supervision of senior engineers and will be expected to coordinate with other teams within the program.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and will require a Secret security clearance.
CAD experience such as: CATIA, Unigraphics, Solidworks, or equivalent
Experience in Structural Design in industry or school classes
Bachelor or above Degree in an Engineering Technical Discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Civil Engineering
CATIA V5 Experience
2 or more years experience in aerospace structure design
Experience with composite structure design or manufacturing
Experience creating and/or modifying drawings
Experience with hand analysis for initial part layout
Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Existing Secret Clearance or above
Excellent writing and communication skills
