Who is Georgia-Pacific? Watch to find out! We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer for our Logistics area at the Savannah River Mill in Rincon, Georgia. The manufacturing engineer will closely work with both reliability and maintenance departments in the development of long-term asset strategies for Alvey palletizers and supporting equipment. This is a key role to ensuring we meet the challenge of improving at a faster rate than our competition. The successful candidate will advance our culture by ensuring the organization is aligned and capable of executing long term reliability strategies. A Day In The Life Typically Includes: Leading the organization toward excelling in Env ironmental, Health, and Safety and compliance by identifying and resolving critical and high risks Improving reliability of the Alvey palletizing assets by leading the development, implementation, execution and check/adjust asset strategies Leading the daily operations of the Alvey palletizing assets by developing operations targets and equipment setup procedures Assisting operations with troubleshooting and reviewing root cause Collaborating with other departments such as maintenance, quality and planning to ensure efficient operation Improving longer term asset performance by understanding the business, mill and department visions and identifying area needs to meet those objectives Prioritizing opportunities and developing a plan to create capability, including potential capital and non-capital projects; leading or participating in the project scope development, engineering, execution, and startup Providing technical expertise on palletizer assets and transferring knowledge to other members of the operations team via daily interaction and formal/informal skill building Developing and implementing asset strategies for Alvey palletizers and supporting equipment including; Condition Based Monitoring, Preventative Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Operating Envelope, Operator Basic Care/Zone Ownership and Spare Parts optimization What You Will Need: Basic Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in an Engineering field OR seven (7) years of experience with Alvey or similar palletizing equipment Experience with implementing or executing asset strategies What Will Put You Ahead? Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with a variety of palletizers Experience with Programming Logic Controllers (PLCs) Previous experience with Georgia-Pacific Reliability systems including AA Database, PI, Vyntex, PTM, DMSI Maintelligence Experience with Asset Strategy Development, Root Cause Analysis and Failure Modes & Effects Analysis Experience coordinating with the corporate business leaders Experience with authorization and qualification of operators in PSQ system Experience initiating and/or executing capital projects Want to learn more about Georgia-Pacific?
