External Description:Job DescriptionThe Manufacturing Engineer provides technical expertise, liaison and support to operations to assure that existing product requirements can be met at optimum quality and cost levels in the safest manner. The Manufacturing Engineer utilizes data and lean manufacturing tools to drive improvements to current processes and tools. Successful Manufacturing Engineers are extremely self- motivated and are an integral part of the factory floor. They strive to assist operations in meeting customer demand and price targets while maintaining the roles and responsibilities listed below within STEMCO's culture. Manage multiple projects at one time, centered on process and tooling performance, maintenance and other improvements. Resolve difficult problems throughout the plant using lean manufacturing theories and tools
Execute plans that increase customer value by reducing cost and waste.
Ensure operations' processes and systems that continue to comply with recognized quality management system requirements.
Lead and actively participate in cross functional teams to implement solutions and continuously improve processes. Provide leadership to tooling/process problem resolution within operations and the die shop.
Promotes safe practices in all activities. Identifies and assists in the reduction of ergonomic strains/concerns within manufacturing.
Strong propensity towards self-motivation to engage with the production team, identify problems and take action to drive results.
Good communicator to all levels of the organization both verbally and written.
Very hands on and willing to do what is necessary to complete projects the Enpro way using our Enpro Manufacturing Learning System (EMLS).
Strong exposure and experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques, DMAIC Problem Solving, and ISO/TS 16949 or QS9000 preferred. Green Belt Certification preferred.
Familiarity with financial data to support cost reduction projects and capital improvements required.
Familiarity with computer aided design and basic working knowledge of Word Processing and Spreadsheets required.
Capable of advancement within the organization following evidence of strong fit and performance.
All other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Bachelor degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Technology.
2 - 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required. metal processing, welding, stamping, cutting, machining preferred. ERP experience strongly encouraged.
